do i always use CINAHL database for finding artices to respond with scholarly responses in discussions
Hi Jodi --
There are several databases that focus on nursing related research. From the library home page at http://library.pnw.edu/calumet/ you can click on the link for "Databases by Subject," then choose the category "Nursing & Health." Clicking the Go button will display a list of databases that are good resources for nursing students and facultly.
You are on the right track when you mention CINAHL, since it is a very large resource with lots of user-friendly tools to limit your search. Most nursing students find it to be their #1 database. Medline and Health Source Nursing are also easy to use. As you can guess by the name, Psyc INFO and Psyc ARTICLES are great resources for psychology-related topics. And Joanna Briggs and Cochrane Library are useful databases for finding systematic reviews and other research at a high level of evidence.
Good luck in your course discussions!
