How do I create a header in a word document with a different running head for the first page?
To create a header with a running head that is different from the text in the remainder of the header's in your Word Document, one must first create a different first page.
To do so in Microsoft Word 2007/2010, go to the Page Layout tab, then select the Page Setup arrow at the bottom right corner, then select the Layout tab, and check the option for different first page.
Insert the header on the first page as usual, with the text and page number. To get the page number in the right corner, you can tab over.
Then, go to the second page of the document, and insert the header text that will appear in the remainder of the document.
