How can I save my PDF article from the ScienceDirect databse when the save button is greyed out?
Users of Adobe Reader X may have the disk icon greyed out in the toolbar when viewing a PDF article in the Science Direct database. This is due to a feature in Adobe Reader X, not the Science Direct database. To save the article, you can first right click the link to the PDF file in the search results. Do not open the PDF document. Right click on the PDF link in the search results screen.
After right clicking on the PDF link, select the Save Link As or Save Target As option depending on your browser. Save the document as an Adobe Acrobat Document in the file type.
