How do I check my mailbox size in Outlook 2010?
Answer
When you have limited storage space, it’s a good idea to regularly check how much you are using so you do not go over your allotted space. Purdue Calumet has recently migrated to Exchange 2010 which gives users simple ways to keep tabs on their usage in both the Outlook 2010 desktop client as well as the Outlook Web Access online client. The steps below will show you how to check your mailbox space in both the Outlook desktop and Web clients.
Outlook Desktop 2010
Click the File tab, then under the Info section, find Mailbox Cleanup.
Here you will see a visual status bar displaying your mailbox's current usage. The white bar represents the total allotted space and the blue area represents the amount used within that space. Below the bar will tell you how much space you have free out of your total allotted space.

If you have many folders and want to view a breakdown of what size these folders are, follow the steps below:
1. Click the Cleanup Tools button and choose Mailbox Cleanup…

2. Click the View Mailbox Size button.

3. Here you will see a breakdown of all of you folders. You can see here the total size of each folder.

Outlook Web Access
When you are logged into Outlook Web access, simply hover your cursor over your mailbox name (this will probably be your name) and a popup will display a status bar along with the exact amount of space used.
