How do I find my PC name?
The following will walk you through finding your PC name in both Windows 7/Vista and XP on University PCs.
Windows 7 and Vista
1.) Open your Start Menu and right click Computer. From the menu that appears, choose Properties.
2.) On the System window, Look for the section that says "Computer name, domain and workgroup settings". The Computer name will be located below that in PC#####N1 format.
1.) From your desktop, right click the My Computer icon and then choose Properties.
NOTE: If you have the newer Windows XP start menu enabled, you will need to right-click the My Computer icon from the Start Menu.
2.) Choose the Computer Name Tab and look for "Full computer name:". The first part that reads as PC#####N1 is your computer name.
